Senora Hansford was one of my favorite teachers at Tabb High. She always had a smile, was so energetic, and made learning Spanish fun. We did skits, cooked in class and it was such a rich experience. I remember she allowed me to use Dionisio (Dennis) as my name instead of Danielle! Thank you, senora.

I met Sandy (Saundra) while she was a Senior at William and Mary. We were more than close friends for 6 years. Our friendship lasted her lifetime. I met and visited her Parents in South Boston Her Brother Ned was one year behind her at W&M, I attended his Wedding.
Her Obit says it all.
I knew her Husband Bob too. He had four years dealing with her illness.
I repeat...her Obit says it all.

Sra. Hansford was my Spanish teacher for three years at Tabb HS, and was a big influence on my life. While most of my classes were in math and science, Sra. Hansford served as a reminder that there are valuable lessons to be learned in all fields, and that art and literature (in all languages) are very important to humanity. Our world needs many more teachers like her. Her husband and children have my deepest sympathy.

Sra. Hansford would have been amazed to know that I currently speak Spanish, every day, with my Spanish-speaking ESOL students! What a patient and strong woman to put up with me in class for three years!! I am blessed to have been taught by her! God bless the Hansford family.

Sandy and I taught together at Tabb High School in the 1980s. She was a wonderful Spanish teacher who not only enlivened her classroom with Spanish language and culture but also traveled abroad with her students so they could experience daily life in Spain. Sandy truly made a difference in students' lives, and she will be fondly remembered by many. Godspeed, Sandy.

I went to Main Street Elementary School with Saundra [not Sandy then}, in South Boston. In our little town we played outside in the afternoons and on weekends. She was the absolute best at hopscotch. I remember her cute little brother , Ned, too. My condolences to all of her friends and family.
Sending caring thoughts,

I first met Sandy in 1974 when she tutored me. She was a very caring individual and truly made a difference as an educator. She touched my life with her compassion and love of teaching when I was I very young in the 9th grade at Tabb High School. I remember how excited she was when she and her husband were building their new home in Seaford. She will truly be missed.

Mrs. Hansford was a dear friend for over 50 years. She attended William and Mary. We met there and became instant friends. She was a wonderful Spanish teacher who will be missed by many to include not only her husband Bob, but also her two sons and grandchildren. There will be a star in heaven for Sandy.
