Teresa Kay Snyder

Teresa Kay Snyder, 67, of Hayes, VA, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021, from complications of ALS. She was surrounded by her family and friends in her home. Born in Albemarle, NC, she lived most of her life in Hampton and moved to Gloucester in 2007. Parents Robert and Marie Burris preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, John, daughters Jennifer Butler (Joseph), Lindsay Scearce (Steve), Caroline Kaliris (Greg), and three granddaughters Elin Scearce, Vivienne Butler, and Briana Kaliris. Teresa was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and a devoted friend to many. She spent many years building a career as a Longaberger consultant. She enjoyed gardening, baking, raising chickens, and volunteering. A "Toast to Teresa" will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday, October 8, 2021, at the Abingdon Ruritan Club 8784 Guinea Road, Hayes, Virginia 23072. Memorial contributions may be made to Gloucester Mathews Humane Society, PO Box 385, Gloucester, VA 23061.
