Thomas Threatt Obituary
'Dick,' as everyone called him, was born on the 7th day of February 1938 to the late Marie Robinson Threatt-Banks and William Sidney Threatt.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother, Alvin Banks. Thomas was a graduate of G.W. Carver High School where he sang with an all high school group called the 'HiLights.' Immediately after high school, he joined the Army and served his country for six years. After 30 years of service, he retired from the United States Postal Service.
He leaves to cherish his memories the mother of his children, six daughters, six sons and 12 grandchildren; three sisters, Barbara Owens, Ann Williams and Faye Johnson of Newport News; two brothers, Bernard Robinson of Newport News and Raymond Banks Jr. (Sandra) of Atlanta, Ga.; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
A funeral service will be held noon Tuesday, Oct. 16, in the chapel at O.H. Smith & Son Funeral Home. The interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. A viewing will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at the funeral home. The family and friends will assemble by 11 a.m. Tuesday at 831-41st St., Newport News, for the procession to the service.
Arrangements are entrusted to O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home.

Daddy , I love and miss you so much, I wish I could have spent more time with you in your last days. Please know that all of your 12 children loved you with all of our hearts. Now every thing is " alright". I know you are smiling down on all of us. I love you very much can't wait to see you again. your 8th child Brenda Threat.
