Virginia FitzHenry Obituary

CHARLOTTE, NC - Virginia Fuller FitzHenry, " Ginger", 80, of Charlotte NC, went to be with the Lord, February 22, 2014. She was born in Keeling, Virginia on Nov.11, 1933 and was the daughter of the late William H. and Amelia Fuller of Hampton. She graduated from Hampton High School in 1952 where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She then went to work for Ranhorne and Granger in Hampton until she moved to Charlotte in 1967 with her husband and family. She worked for Dixie Electric Company in Charlotte as a bookkeeper until her retirement. Those who love her will remember her as a loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother, she will be dearly missed by all. She was the wife of late Daryl W. FitzHenry of Charlotte. Mrs FitzHenry is survived by her daughter, Amy FitzHenry (Ken Martin) and grandchildren Alexia and Blake Martin; son Darren FitzHenry (Roxanne) and grandchildren William (Erin) and Andrew FitzHenry and great granddaughter Audrey FitzHenry. She is also survived by her sisters, Margaret (Avram) Rubin of Simi Valley, CA, Barbara Knight of Pataskala, OH, and Sandra Fuller of Hampton; and her brother William H. Fuller, Jr. of Hampton, and many nieces and nephews. While living in Hampton, Ginger was an active member of the LaCrosse Memorial Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and served on various committees. She played on local softball and basketball teams with her sisters and cousins winning several championships. After moving to Charlotte, she was a member of the Cook's Memorial Presbyterian Church and was an active member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority. There will be a Memorial Service to honor and celebrate her life on Saturday July 5th at 11:00 am at LaCrosse Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1518 N. Mallory Street, Hampton. Immediately following, friends are welcome to meet with the family in the Education Building for a time of fellowship. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association; 6350 Center Drive, Ste 102, Norfolk, VA 23502.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the family. Ginger was a beautiful person and will be missed. I am sure she is dancing in the sky with all that have gone before us. May she Rest in Peace.
