Walter Woodson Obituary
Our beloved one was born June 15, 1950, in Nansemond County to Lelear Rawls Woodson and the late Walter Woodson Sr. He was a former member of Mount Sinai Baptist Church. He was a member of Holland Masonic Lodge #256 F& AM (PHA). He attended Southwestern High School.
He leaves to cherish his memories, one daughter, Miss Tiffaney Woodson of Hampton; one son, Walter Woodson III; a stepson, Marvin Bowser, both of Danville, Va.; his mother, Mrs. Lelear R. Woodson; four sisters, Mrs. Betty Jean Steward, Mrs. Shirley Thompson, Ms. Eula Woodson and Mrs. Yvonne Knight (Nathaniel), all of Suffolk, Va.; four brothers, James Woodson (Carolyn), Vernon Woodson (Joyce), Larry Woodson (Sylvia) and Michael Woodson (Carol), all of Suffolk; one grandchild, Tyshawn Woodson; mother-in-law, Annie Faulcon of Littleton, N.C.; two aunts; one great-aunt; four sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Viewing will begin noon Friday, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1601-27th St., Newport News, VA 23607, (757) 380-0251. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, at True Vine Church of Jesus, 201 Pear Ave., Newport News, VA 23607. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens.

To my aunt Lelear and all of my cousins, this truly was a shock to learn of Walter, Jr. passing. As we all were growing up we called him Wal, Jr. As kids I can only think of the fun memories that we had coming up as 1st cousins playing,eating, sleeping over together and also getting whippings together for disobeying. Our prayers will forever be with each of you always. I'm truly sorry that we could not attend the homegoing service. May God continue to bless and keep each of you in his mist of love.
