William Lee Garrett

1954 - 2021

William Lee "Bill" Garrett, Sr of Suffolk, Virginia, passed away on June 4, 2021 peacefully and full of faith in his Savior after a brief battle with cancer. He was born on January 1, 1954 and was the son of the late Bevie Lee Boyd and Alice Murray Boyd. He was married to the love of his life, Andrea Francis Garrett, for 29 years. He served proudly in the U.S. Army. Bill was a true Renaissance man who was knowledgeable and proficient in many fields. His friends and family knew they could count on Bill to fix just about anything from electronic to mechanical. He retired from Johnson Controls, Inc. in 2016 after 27 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John Boyd. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Andrea; son William L. Garrett, II; sisters Pixie Melfi (Marc); Sheree Blume (Tim); Terry Guimont (Bruce) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial will be at the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk at Noon on Friday, June 11.
