It's been almost a year since my dad, Roger Jones passed away, and as Father's Day approached, I thought maybe this is the time to remember, appreciate, and share.

For those who knew my dad, know he was all about his dog Brutis, cars & guitars. Music and vehicles in general really. He had a basement full of many types of music instruments and equipment and a driveway full of all types of vehicles. He was born on 3/3/1952 in Manassas, VA as the only child to Frederick and Rosa Lee Gallihugh Jones. This was also their anniversary; what a gift! He grew up in Manassas enjoying building and racing cars and not moving away until adulthood. He lived in many places finally landing in Stanardsville, VA for the last 20+ years. He had been a heavy equipment operator with the Union in DC / Northern VA and enjoyed playing in bands and doing sound gigs on the side. Later in life he got to do what he really enjoyed and worked at Culpeper Music with his best friend Tommy, while also continuing with bands and sound gigs.

Dad passed away on July 12, 2024, in Henrico, VA near family. He was preceded in death by his Grandparents Thomas and Ethel Jones of Manassas, VA and Elbert and Annie Gallihugh of Madison, VA, parents Frederick and Rosa, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and his best dog Brutis. He leaves behind, his only child, a daughter, Shay Jones, his grandson, Jaiden Coleman, granddaughters Serena Coleman, Taylor Franck, and Erica Franck, his 3 great granddaughters Dakota Jones, Rylee Brooks and Brooklyn Butler and many friends.
