Robert Patrick Kelleher, aged 80, passed away on August 13, 2025, in Tappahannock, VA. Born on August 10, 1945, in Beverly, MA. He grew up on Cape Ann in the town of Manchester-by-the-Sea. Robert led a life marked by dedication to education, a passion for music, and service to his country and community.

Robert graduated from Saint Johns Preparatory School, followed by an impressive academic journey that included the University of Vermont, Goddard, and the University of Virginia. His commitment to education was evident in his career as a teacher at Cullman College, Southern Benedictine College, Radford University and as a graduate student at The University of Virginia. Beyond academia, Robert shared his love for music as a guitar teacher at The Guitar Shop in Charlottesville and later served the Orange community as a volunteer at Orange Elementary School. During retirement, he worked part time at the Gordonsville Library.

A veteran of the United States Air Force, Sergeant Kelleher served his country with honor and dedication. His military service was a significant chapter in his life, reflecting his commitment to duty and discipline. He received acknowledgement for teaching guitar to hospitalized servicemen.

Robert's hobbies included reading and fishing, but it was music that truly captured his heart. He was a talented multi-instrumentalist, playing classical guitar, auto harp, banjo, piano, and mandolin. He cherished his weekly music sessions with a small group at the Gordonsville Library, where he played on his beloved Kohno classical guitar.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Speegle Kelleher. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Patrick Kelleher and Elizabeth Pope Kelleher; and his brother, William Kelleher.

This gesture will honor Robert's legacy of community service and support and will provide help for those suffering from Alzheimer's.
