Sylvania Shifflett Obituary

Sylvania Lucas Shifflett, 67, of Palmyra, died Monday, April 10, 2006, at her home

"Sylvia" was born April 6, 1939, in East Lynn, Wayne County, West Virginia. She was the youngest daughter of nine children of the late Taylor and Brook Lucas.

"Sylvia" is survived by her husband of 20 years, Gordon Shifflett; a daughter, Drema R. Furrow of Palmyra; a son, Clifton E. Furrow Jr. of Staunton, Virginia; two stepchildren, Robert L. Shifflett of Palmyra, Virginia and Sharon Shifflett of Polkton, North Carolina; 10 grandchildren and one great -grandson.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2006, at Mount Ed Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronald J. Nickell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Aunt Baney was a wonderful aunt to me as well as my siblings. She never failed to tell us she loved us and we know it was so because of her actions. Although we have many fond memories to confort us, we will nevertheless miss her. May God bless all of there family and friends. We love you.
