Beth McIvor Obituary

Beth Cowles McIvor, 82, of Richmond, Va., died July 29, 2005.

The daughter of Peter T. and Antoinette D. Cowles of Charlottesville, Va., she was the widow of Labron Eugene McIvor Jr.

She is survived by her two daughters, Amy M. Brown and Charlotte M. Cassada; her three grandchildren, Haskell C. Brown III, R. Carter Cassada, and Grayson B. Cassada, all of Richmond.

A member of First Baptist Church in Richmond, Mrs. McIvor was a graduate of the University of Virginia class of 1943 and was a life member of the University of Viginia Alumni Association. She was a teacher in the Albemarle County Public Schools until her marriage in 1944 ,and she was a substitute teacher for many years in the Henrico County Public Schools, especially at Tuckahoe Elementary School and Douglas S. Freeman High School.

A graveside service for the family will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 1, 2005, at Riverview Cemetery in Charlottesville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the University of Virginia Alumni Association.

Hill & Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
