Charles Lebo Obituary

Charles "Chuck" Lebo, 74, of Charlottesville, peacefully left this life at Martha Jefferson Hospital on September 6, 2025. In true Chuck fashion, he chose a Saturday night at 10:30 p.m. to move on to the next party.

Chuck was born on February 9, 1951, in Fox Chapel, PA, and moved to Charlottesville in 1974. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 30 years, Robin, and their sweet dogs, Afton and Cider. He was a proud father to Meghan Yancey (Brandon) of Raleigh, NC, and Charlotte Geddy of Charlottesville. He was the fun loving "Granddad" to Reid, Wrenn, Tuck, Louella, and Ollie.

Chuck is also survived by his siblings, Rita McClaine, Jack Rafferty, and Sheila Zedlewski, in-laws Deborah Apel, Susan Cecil, Pat Coats, and very special nieces and nephews and their families. He was a best friend to many, always ready with a listening ear and sage advice. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alma and Herman, stepfather Jack, and brother Bud.

Chuck founded Lebo Commercial Properties, which, at its peak, managed over half a million square feet of property, including Rio Hill Shopping Center. He served on multiple boards, including the Albemarle County ARB, and was honored with the Charlottesville Chamber of Commerce Christopher Lee Small Business Person Award in 2017.

But Chuck was not all business. He loved trivia, poker games, rock and roll, and Steelers football. In his younger years, he enjoyed hiking, skiing, tennis, and golf. Above all, Chuck was "Fun." He could get along with anyone, and as he said in his final months, "It was a damn good party."

A celebration of his life will be held Friday, September 19 with a service at 2 p.m. at the Earlysville Fire Department, followed by a toast at the Forest Lakes North Clubhouse from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA or send a thank you to the incredibly caring nursing staff on Cornell Unit at Martha Jefferson Hospital.
