Charles Tomlin Obituary

Charles Garland "Chuck" Tomlin, Jr., 48, of Esmont, passed on to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. He was born on July 27, 1968, in Charlottesville, the son of Patricia and Jeffrey Wray and the late Charles Garland "Tubie" Tomlin, Sr. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Raleigh Anderson and Okla Homer Frazier; his great-grandmother, Lillie O'Brien; his great-aunt, Audrey Chisholm; and his cousin, Bonnie Chisholm Cole. Chuck was a professional truck driver and had recently started his own business, Tomlin's Trucking. He was an avid motorcyclist who loved his customized Harley Davidson. He traveled many miles with his friends on road trips to bike rallies. He loved camping, boating, fishing, and hunting, often traveling from state to state to hunt bear, deer, and wild boar. But most importantly, he loved his family and friends. He was a prankster, always happy, laughing, and joking. Survivors include his loving wife of nine years, Denise Tomlin; his son, Michael Tomlin, both of Esmont; his mother, Patricia Wray and husband, Jeffrey of Charlottesville; his grandmother, Doris Anderson of Esmont; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Remington Tomlin; and a number of other extended family members and friends. Chuck, bless your loving heart, we will see you on the other side. We love you. A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m., Saturday, July 22, 2017, at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home by the Reverend Chauncey E. Brown. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Family and friends may share memories and photos at www.thackerbrothers.com.
