Gladys Leigh Clark Gladys Leigh "Mimi" (Farrish) Clark, 88, of Charlottesville, passed away on her mother's birthday, Sunday, February 2, 2014, at Martha Jefferson Hospital. She was born on November 17, 1925, in Buckingham County, the youngest of eleven children born to Clyde Russell and Rosa Belle (Staton) Farrish. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years, James Edward Clark Jr. Mrs. Clark was a retired bookkeeper and hairstylist. She was a founding member of Jefferson Park Baptist Church in Charlottesville where she participated in the Koinonia Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Scottsville Senior Center. Her hobbies included gardening, canning, traveling, and bird watching. Survivors include two sons, Stephen Lee Clark and wife, Brenda Bingler Clark of Charlottesville and Barry James Clark and wife, Diana Duncombe Clark of Ruckersville; a daughter, Karen Denise Clark Kocinski of Chesapeake; four grandchildren, Meghanne Austin Clark and fianc?e, Aaron Ogburn, Morganne Virginia Clark, Riley Kathryn Clark, and Hayden James Clark; and a number of nieces, nephews and extended family. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home. The funeral service, conducted by the Reverend Jeff Riddle will follow at 7 p.m. A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, February 7, 2014, at Monticello Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Scottsville Senior Center, c/o Gladys Banton, 715 Hummingbird Rd., Scottsville, VA 24590.
