LYNDHURSTHowe Donald Truslow Sr., 85, of Lyndhurst, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.Born August 9, 1929 in Charlottesville, he was the son of the late Hallie Althea Truslow and cared for by his grandparents, Lillie and Austin Truslow. On January 14, 1985 he married his loving wife of 29 years, Madge M. Truslow.Howe was a member of Lyndhurst United Methodist Church. He was employed by the former I.E. DuPont where he worked for 39 faithful years. A veteran of the United States Army he served his country honorably during the Korean War. He was a member of the Stuarts Draft VFW 9339 and enjoyed bowling, wood working, traveling and fishing.He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Annie "Rena" Zimmerman Truslow.He is also survived by his children, Donald Truslow and wife, Frances, Sherrie Garris and husband, Fred, Miles Truslow and wife, Jill, and Howe D. Truslow Jr. and wife, Teresa; step-sons, Joseph Morris Muncy and wife, Elaine, and Frederick B. Miles and wife, Diane; his twin brother, Howell Dale Truslow and wife, Barbara; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2014 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with his sister-in-law, Ellen Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park. Military honors will be provided by the Stuarts Draft VFW 9339.Active pallbearers will be his grandsons.The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1160 Pepsi Place #306, Charlottesville, VA 22901.Relatives and friends may share condolences and memories with the family online by visiting www.reynoldshamrickfuneralhomes.com.
