Ernest Joseph Comini

Ernest J. Comini passed away on October 24, 2024 at the Colonnades in Charlottesville, VA. He was born January 5, 1927 to Paul and Emma Comini in Avella, PA. He graduated from Bridgeville High School in 1944. He was drafted on April 13th of 1945 at the age of eighteen. After training, he was sent to Japan until December of 1946. In 1950 he was inducted in the Korean campaign and discharged in December of 1951. He was very proud of his service to our country. He worked for Cytemp Specialty Steel Company for 42 years. He worked at Disney World well into his eighties as he loved interacting with the children, keeping active and bringing joy to others. He was also an avid golfer and was active in his league well into his eighties. He loved puzzles and reading.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Frances as well as two children: Son, Jack Farster and daughter, Susan Hadley as well as sister Mary and brother Paul Comini. Also surviving are grandchildren: Nichole Gibson and husband Shannon, J.R. Hadley and finance Lauren Powlovich and Bradley Farster. In addition, great grandchildren Cody Gibson and wife Reed, Logan Gibson and significant other Celia Hines and Emma Farster. He was very excited for the pending arrival of a great-great-granddaughter in March of 2025. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Freddie Comini and brother, Roland Comini.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on November 12th at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Palmyra, VA with Father David officiating. Interment will follow at the adjoining cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association at alz.org as his wife Frances suffers from the disease, and he was dedicated to caring for her needs.
