Gerald Burnett Obituary
A graduate of Albemarle High School (1962) and The College of William and Mary (1968), he also attended Hampton University and the University of Virginia.
He was a Caring father, a self-sufficient farmer, an advocate of freedom, equality and literacy, and a contributor as a teach in Albemarle Co., a school board member in Greene Co., a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church, and a founding member of the Greene Co., Historical Society. After retirement he indulged his lifelong love of books through the operational of a bookstore at Buckeye, W.Va.
He is survived by his devoted son, Thomas Burnett; daughters, Jennifer Woodward (Petey) and Susan Holtzman (David), five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2023, at Spring Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

I´m sorry for your loss. I would see Gerald periodically at church. Because we had lived in Goochland and Schuyler, Va ( Albemarle county though) we had talked about our experiences. We live about half mile from his Buckeye house. I didn´t send regrets sooner because I´ve been out of circulation due to health issues.

I extend deepest condolences to the family. Gerry was my mentor when I began teaching at Broadus Wood Elementary School in Albemarle County, Virginia. He imparted a plethora of knowledge and wisdom that helped me immensely. I am so thankful and grateful.
