Henry Browne Obituary
April 28, 1932 - November 26, 2025
Henry "Hank" Browne, a longtime resident of Charlotesville, VA passed away on November 26, 2025 at the age of 93. Hank was a beloved father, grandfather and friend of so many. He is survived by his three daughters, Tracy Browne (Jeff Grounds), Leslie Browne (Clark Gathright) and Kari Browne (Sushil Wagle). He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Carson Stone and Adelaide Stone, and his nephew and niece, Andrews Browne and Cricket Browne.
Hank was a graduate of the Architectural School at the University of Virginia (1955) and a founding member of the firm Grigg, Wood, Browne Architects. He received numerous awards throughout his career including the prestigious Milton L. Grigg FAIA Award from AIA Central Virginia.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 12:30 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church in Charlottesville followed by a celebration of life service at Farmington Country Club at 2 p.m.
