Jared Woodson Obituary

Jared Scott Woodson

December 28, 1978 - June 11, 2025

Jared Scott Woodson was welcomed into Heaven June 11, 2025. Jared was born December 28, 1978. He is survived by his wife, Kristen Nevin Woodson; his daughters, Ella and Lilly Woodson; his stepdaughter, Avery Mathosian; and two stepsons, Kyle and Dylan Mathosian; his parents, Ronnie and Kathy Woodson; his brothers, Joel and Joshua Woodson; his sister-in-law, Casey Woodson; his niece, Emma Woodson; and his four nephews, Caden, Chase, Grant and Hayes Woodson. Jared was blessed with aunts and uncles, cousins and more family than can be listed here who all loved him greatly. Jared also was blessed as a member of the UVA Football Family.

Jared grew up on Meadowbrook Farm in North Garden, VA. He loved and worked hard on the farm even as a young boy. Then came sports! He played soccer, t-ball, little league baseball, junior league, city league basketball, AAU basketball, Middle School and High School Basketball. It wasn't until 11th grade that he was coerced into playing football at Western Albemarle High School. He was recruited and played football for five years at UVA. He earned a Master's Degree at UVA, and after a few years was married and had his two daughters. Then there was golf, the game that never ends! Jared also enjoyed clay-shooting. He worked for Cintas then became a representative for several Orthopedic Instrument companies. He later moved to North Carolina where he still resided.

Please join us in celebrating Jared's life on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 4637 Plank Road, North Garden, VA, 22959. Following the service, please join us by gathering at Ronnie and Kathy's home, where Jared grew up on Meadowbrook Farm, for us all to share our stories and love for Jared. His burial will be private in the Meadowbrook Farm Woodson Family Cemetery. Donations in Jared's memory can be sent to either to Trinity United Methodist Church, P.O. Kathy, we crossed paths today briefly and you told me about the loss of your oldest. Again, I´m so sorry. The cellular disconnection is real, but you are putting one foot in front of the other. I hope you got the sunflower seed, and can take a few breaths with the birds this evening. Take care.

Dear Ronnie and Kathy and family,

I know how much Jared meant to you all just like all your kids do and there are not enough words to tell you how sorry I am. I cannot imagine what you all are going through. I just wanted you to know myself(and many many others in the crozet community) are thinking of you all. I wish you peace and comfort in the days/weeks/months ahead. Take care.

Sincerely,
Jack Jones

My favorite memory of Jared was the day my godson and nephew, Caden, was born. Jared being Joel´s big brother and me being Ann´s big sister, we banded together to do all we could to help during this special time in our families lives where the first "grandchild" on both sides was born. Jared lit up with pride that day for his brother Joel and their family. That memory will stay in my heart forever!

I'm so very sorry to hear about Jared's passing. I used to babysit him and his brothers when I was just 15. Jared was always very well-mannered and helpful. My condolences to his family. My grandmother, Mildred Norvelle also sends her love to Ronnie and Kathy.
