John Edward Roudabush, Sr

April 3, 1948 - July 29, 2024

John Edward Roudabush, age 76, of Charlottesville, passed away on July 29, 2024, at Dogwood Village of Orange County.

He was born April 3,1948, in Albemarle County, the son of the late John Nathaniel and Lillian Marie Roudabush.

John worked at the telephone company, serving Albemarle County for 41 years, before retiring in 2011. He loved working in his yard and spoiling his three bulldogs, Scooby, Jojo, and Romeo. He also enjoyed monthly breakfasts with all his work buddies. John also never missed an opportunity to spoil his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well. He was a wonderful man, dad, friend, and this world will not be the same without him.

John is survived by his son, Eddie Roudabush, of Madison, VA; daughter, Tena Bond and husband, Larry, of Orange, VA; grandchildren, Nick Bledsoe, Lindsay Bledsoe, and Karleigh Bond; great-grandchildren, Hayes, Dayton, Kaycen and Madison Bledsoe; his brother, Mike Roudabush and wife, Janice; and special friend, Kimberly Lively.

In addition to his parents, John is also preceded in death by his brothers, Scott Roudabush and Larry Roudabush.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., on Monday, August 5, 2024, at Holly Memorial Gardens, Charlottesville. Pallbearers will include Aubrey Estes, Ronnie Collier, Donnie Dorrier, Kevin Marshall, Delmas Shifflett, and Danny Haney. Honorary pallbearers will be Rusty Walton and Richard Jackson. Pastor Danny Via will officiate the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA located at 3355 Berkmar Drive, Charlottesville, VA, 22901. Online guestbook is available at johnsoncares.com.
