Josephine Colley Obituary
Josephine Lucinda Preston "Jo" Colley, 90, of Stanardsville, VA departed this life peacefully at home on June 3, 2024. She was born in Columbus, OH, the daughter of the late Mr. Belford Preston and Mrs. Betty Preston. She was the wife of the late Amon Lewis "Al" Colley for over 50 years. She is survived by her three children, Col. Jeffrey Glenn Colley and his wife Ildika Colley of Elkton, KY, Teresa Lee Benshoff of Stanardsville, VA, and Ann Michelle Stewart of Leesburg, VA. She is survived by her grandchildren, Matthew Amon Colley and his wife Jessica Colley, Heather Rae Colley, Clarice Renee Alexander and her husband John Alexander, and Alexander Torre Benshoff. She loved her community and was a member of the Stanardsville United Methodist Church and an active member of the Greene County JABA senior group. A very talented seamstress, she sewed both of her daughters' wedding gowns. An avid reader and artist, she also loved jigsaw and crossword puzzles. Always a devoted wife, loving mother, and friend, she will be dearly missed. We wish to thank all of the angels at Medi Home Hospice for their tremendous care.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 15 at 11 a.m. at Stanardsville United Methodist Church.
