Mrs Sacra was my LPN instructor at Martha Jefferson Hospital. She taught more than nursing, kindness, empathy & how we should give back to our communities. Received my license in 1975. Retired 4yrs ago. Her words still creep into my mind. Mrs. Sacra helped guide my life. Debi Anglin

June was one of my favorite people ever. After my mother died in 2001 she mothered me whenever I would submit. After Rudy died my wife Jane and I celebrated her birthday every year with a night on the town (which really was a nice dinner at a nice restaurant). Jane and I hosted a birthday party at Our Lady of Peace for about 50 of her friends and family when she turned 90. We were both sad when she decided it was time for her to leave Charlottesville but we knew it was time. I called her on her birthday each year after her move until she was unable to communicate well. We worked together at First United Methodist
Church. Most folks will never know about the courageous decision that she made while serving on the Staff Parish Committee which would turn out to be a major turning point in the ministries at FUMC. But I remember it well. An important, loving piece of my life is gone. Perhaps not forever.

Aunt June was such a joy to be around. She would come to visit George and Darla Jean when she lived in VA and it always was so nice to visit with her. One visit, my sister in law, Barb and I said we would love to drive her home to VA and stay a few days with her there. What a trip we had!! She had us laughing all the time. Some of the things that she would say we would just look at each other and break into laughter. We slept in her spare room and would just giggle like little girls talking about our day with her. She would say "I heard you two girls carrying on last night" loving us like we were her own.... Her smile that would light up a room will be missed. Her way of comforting and making you feel loved, goes without saying. She will be greatly missed, but is hugging her Lord and Savior and also dancing with Uncle Rudy! We'll miss you Aunt June !
