Leora Baker Obituary

Leora Marie Dickinson Baker, 96, of Louisa, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 7, 2015, at Louisa Health and Rehabilitation Center of Louisa. She was born on August 5, 1919, in Spotsylvania County, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Lemuel and Ruby Talley Payne.Mrs. Baker is survived by a daughter, Patsy Dickinson Holley; son-in-law, Everett Holley, of Cleburne, Texas; a son, Warren Ashley Dickinson "W.A."; and a daughter-in-law, Bettye Gilbert Dickinson, of Mineral, Virginia. Also, she is survived by four grandchildren, Andrea Holley, Carey Vandygriff (Eric), Warren Ashley Dickinson, II (Laura), and Tyler Cabell Dickinson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Carlton Dickinson; brother, Robert Payne; sisters Virginia Payne Sutphin, and Nella Payne Hall; and second husband, Robert Eugene Baker "Bob".A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2015, at the Louisa United Methodist Church, 100 E. Main Street, Louisa.Mrs. Baker managed the family business, Dickinson's Store, for twenty-eight years and later was a sales associate at Bailey's Drugstore, Louisa. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Louisa United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 217, Louisa, VA 23093.
