Albert Patrick Lindemann, Jr., age 78, of Charlottesville, Va. passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 18, 2016.He was born in Providence, Rhode Island on December 3, 1937, son of the late Albert Patrick and Agnes O'Hern Lindemann.He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Anne McKenzie Lindemann; two sons, Albert Patrick III (Eleanor), and Keven John (Laura); two daughters, Julie Morehead (Max), and Susan Schloeder. Grandad had 10 grandchildren, and he was fiercely proud of every single one of them, Thomas and Patrick Lindemann of Charlotte, Kyle and Alison Morehead of Richmond, Nicholas and James Schloeder of Baltimore, and Julia, Jack, Matthew, and Charlie Lindemann of Charlottesville.He was an accomplished attorney, serving with the Justice Department under Robert Kennedy, and as head of litigation with Exxon Corporation. In his younger days, Big Al was an enthusiastic golfer, enjoying the post-round camaraderie with friends as much as the game itself. He was an avid reader and lover of books, crossword puzzles, countless gin games with friends, UVA athletics and anything involving his grandchildren. His happiest and proudest moments were when he was surrounded by family, which gave him a chance to freely dispense the advice for which he was well known.A servicewill be heldFriday August 26, 2016, 12 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Ivy, Virginia, with a reception to follow.
