Mable Anderson Obituary

Mable Lene Ayres Anderson was born on December 27, 1939. She died peacefully at her home in Ruckersville, Virginia, on December 31, 2022.

Precious and loving memories are left to her children, James (Brenda) Anderson of Aroda, Va., Robert Anderson of Orange, Va., Fletcher (Misty) Anderson of Shenandoah, Va., and Geneva Alexanderson of Ruckersville, Va. Also her siblings, Nannie Chambers, Margaret Johnson, and Josephine Williams; her stepsiblings, Sanafe Hocker, Lois Jones, Robert Jones, Kenneth Jones, Ryland Jones, and Bernice Ayres. Also a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, James Franklin Ayres; her father, Robert McKinley Ayres; her mother, Ida Chambers Ayres; her stepmother, Cora Pauline Ayres; and her son, Frank Anderson. Also her siblings, Louise Warner, Jesse Ayres, Ryland Jones, and Cassie Mosley, and stepsiblings, Alasta Jones, and Edith Scott.

Mable grew up a member at Morning Valley Baptist Church, Dillwyn, Va. She was a faithful and loving Missionary and member at Shiloh Baptist Church, Stanardsville, Va. She also served faithfully at other organizations and auxiliaries within the surrounding districts. She could be heard saying, "If you don't want to testify, I would take your time and mine." Her encouraging words, moving testimonies, and beautiful smile will be sorely missed among her countless church families and friends.

Mable was known for her loving kindness, leaving a profound impression on everyone she met. She devoted her life to the service of others. She simply wanted everyone to love one another. Her last act of love was to donate her body to science for the benefit of medical researchers and educators with a focus on Alzheimer's research. Her legacy will always be her genuine love of God and man, her children, and children's children.

In her honor, memorial contributions can be sent payable to the Mable L. Anderson Memorial Fund, Wells Fargo Bank, 1625 Seminole Trail, Charlottesville, VA 22901.

A memorial of celebration will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, 71 Shiloh Road, Stanardsville, Va.
