Nancy Anglin Obituary

Nancy Lorraine Anglin, 88, of Charlottesville, passed away November 17, 2023.

Nancy was born in San Francisco, CA, to Cecil and Frances Wasson on May 29, 1935. She graduated from Lowell High School in San Francisco and the San Francisco College for Women. Throughout her life, she combined her love for music and writing to minister to people and to bring them joy. During her college years, Nancy was the editor of the student newspaper The Tower and served as secretary of the Choral Club and the Music Club. She worked as a proofreader and editor at The Michie Company/Lexis Law Publishing in Charlottesville for 20 years. Nancy was a long-time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Charlottesville, where she sang in the choir and wrote plays for the children's Christmas programs.

A devoted mother, Nancy is survived by her two sons, Paul W. Anglin and William H. Anglin IV of Sarasota, FL. Nancy was a prayer warrior, and she greatly admired Christian author and missionary Elisabeth Elliot. She also held high regard for President Ronald Reagan and was an avid listener of the Rush Limbaugh Show.

Nancy's friends fondly remember how she handled life's challenges with faith, courage, and an irrepressible quick wit. That fortitude enabled her to valiantly battle Alzheimer's for many years, never giving up. Special thanks to the staff at Monroe Health and Rehabilitation Center for their loving care and compassion.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2416 Jefferson Park Avenue, Charlottesville, VA 22903. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in her name.
