Percy Norvelle Obituary
Percy W. Norvelle Jr., 92, of North Garden, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. Percy was born on March 15, 1928, in Charlottesville, Va., to the late Percy and Lillie Norvelle of North Garden. In addition to his parents, Percy was preceded in death by his brother, Arnold Norvelle (Berk), and one grandson, Brian Shotwell.
Percy is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Lilly Love Norvelle; three daughters, Deloris Stanislaus and husband, John, Diane Shifflett and husband, Donald, and Pamela Norvelle; and one son, Duane Smith and wife, Joyce. Percy is also survived by eight loving grandchildren, 19 loving great-grandchildren; one sister, Kay powell and husband, Alvin; and one sister-in-law, Mildred Norvelle.
Percy started work when he was 15 years old helping on the farm he lived on in Covesville. Percy worked for Morton's Frozen Foods, Delmonte, ConAgra, drove a truck for 35 years before retiring, and Fox's paving, etc. All of Percy's CB buddies are calling him "Breaker Breaker Shadrach Homeward Bound 10-4 Good Buddies". To a loving husband, best daddy ever, amazing granddad, and brother, friend. He would give you the shirt off his back! We love you and will be in our hearts forever!
A family night will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at Teague Funeral Service located at 2260 Ivy Road, Charlottesville VA 22903, from 6 until 8 p.m. The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at Riverview Cemetery in Charlottesville, Va.

What a kind and sweet man Norvelle was. I had the honor to take care of him at the dental office over the years and always looked forward to his pleasant demeanor. Sorry for your loss.

Jr. drove for me T.M.Turf and was one of the best person anyone could ever know .He was so kind to me and taught me a lot about driving a truck .Many day's i think of him and that warm smile and gentle way he had.May he rest in the big parking lot up stairs with his other trucking buddies .
