Richard Brier Obituary

Richard Paul Brier of Ajijic Mexico, formerly of Louisa and Keswick, Virginia, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2022, after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer, in Austin, Texas.

Born on April 26, 1943 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Glenn Wilson Brier and Josephine Hartz Brier. He is survived by his long time fiancée, Nancy Brown of Austin Texas, and her family; his sons, Richard (Rick) Brier, (Leslie) of Fredericksburg, Va., and Noel Gre Brier (Laura) of Charlottesville, Va.; his grandson, Christopher Brier of Staunton, Va.; and his granddaughters, Korinne Brier of Charlottesville, Va., and Sylvan Brier of Arlington, Va. Also his sister, Katherine Sheroshick of Arlington, Va.; brother, David of Falls Church, Va., along with many cousins, nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his sons, Christopher Glenn Brier and Michael Corey Sullivan, and his second wife, J. Lyn Brier.

At this time, there is no service planned. In the future, there will be a celebration of life service in Charlottesville, Va. Details will be sent out at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local hospice organization, or to Hospice Austin’s Christopher House (https://www.hospiceaustin.org/get-involved/donate/donation-form/), who cared for Paul with respect and dignity to the very end. We can’t thank them enough.
