March 1, 1951 - October 29, 2021
Robert Wayne Modena, 70, of Maddox Drive, Orange, died on Friday, October 29, 2021, at the University of Virginia Medical Centerl, Charlottesville. Wayne was born on March 1, 1951, in Orange, the son of the late William Minor Modena and Rosalie Colvin Modena.
Wayne was the owner and operator of the State Farm Insurance Office in Orange. He was a member of the Orange Presbyterian Church, the Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Alliance, a Life Member of the Orange County Rescue Squad, a graduate of Virginia Tech., a co-founder of the Virginia Tech Rescue, and the Army Reserves.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Kimberly Highlander Modena of Orange; a daughter, Stephanie M. Gillan and husband, Elliott, of Charlottesville; a son, Robert Wayne Modena II and wife, Sheila, of Manassas; three grandchildren, Ellie Gillan, Natalie Modena, and Robbie Modena; one sister, Roxanne M. Hagan and husband, Colin, of Ruckersville, and many other family and friends.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Preddy Funeral Home of Orange is assisting the family.
