Robert Peter Strassheim

January 5, 1935 - May 23, 2024

Robert P. "Bob" Strassheim, 89 years old, died peacefully surrounded by family on May 23, 2024, in Margate, FL. Bob is survived by his daughter and son (Kellie and Rob), his sister (Deanna), his three grandchildren (Joseph, Reid and Clare), and his daughter-in-law and son-in-law (Sarah and Kevin). He is predeceased by his wife, Carole D. Strassheim of Charlottesville, VA.

Bob was born January 5, 1935 in Buffalo, NY to Harold J. Strassheim and Evelyn F. Strassheim, graduated from East High School in 1954, and was immediately placed in the training program at Buffalo Savings Bank. During his 40 year career, he held myriad of positions and retired from Navy Federal Credit Union as the Vice President of Mortgage Servicing. In 1968, Bob married Carole A. Doyle, and the couple provided a loving home in New York and Virginia for their two children. Bob and Carole enjoyed traveling, spending time with their grandchildren and being active in their service to the Lord.

Both during his professional career and in retirement, Bob was generous in providing time, talent and treasure to a variety of interests including service as a volunteer with a local rescue squad, assisting community members with tax filing, and his service with various homeowner's associations and boards. His greatest passion was dedicating his time to the Catholic church. Over the years, Bob participated in parish councils, building and finance committees and countless other endeavors to assist the church.
