Shona concluded her long and successful life journey on the 27th of February, 2019, in Charlottesville, Virginia, at age 77. Shona always saw life as an adventure and never let convention get in the way of her dreams, convictions and achievements. She was a much-loved British modern renaissance woman. Born Shona Deirdre Leask on April 4, 1941 in New Delhi, India, the only child of British Army officer Major John Edward Mercer Ewart Clark Leask, MBE (killed in action on November 15, 1944) and Deirdre Jean Laird (died September 23, 1988). Shona was preceded in death by her eldest son, but survived by her daughter and son-in-law, two sons, two daughters-in-law, a step grandson, and five grand-dogs. A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Unity Church, 2825 Hydraulic Road, Charlottesville, VA 22901.
