Vincent Lewis Monroe, affectionately known as "Money or Vinny", entered into eternal rest on March 28, 2021. He was a native of Charlottesville, Virginia. Vincent was born on September 11, 1956, to the late Joseph Lewis and Corine Henderson Monroe.
He was educated in the Albemarle County Public School System and was a member of the graduating class of 1974. On December 31, 1997, Vincent married the love of his life, Dorothy Walker Monroe.
Vincent was baptized at Wake Forest Baptist Church, Scottsville, Va., at a young age and later joined Middle Oak Baptist Church, Blenheim, Va. After 25 years of service, he retired from Rivanna Water & Sewer Authority.
During his youth, Money would often be found shooting hoops at Tonsler Park. He kept up with the North Carolina Tar Heels basketball team, Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team, and the Los Angeles Lakers. However, no other team could come close to the love he had for his beloved Dallas Cowboys!
Vincent enjoyed taking all opportunities to look sharp in his many suits and is known for having the "cleanest cars in Charlottesville" – having a keen eye detailing all vehicles. He always enjoyed the company of family and friends, but more specifically, his three grandsons. He also visited the sick in nursing homes and consistently called and/or visited his family and friends. Vincent is known for his Karaoke singing of "One in Million", and his favorite gospel song was "I Won't Complain".
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Dorothy Walker Monroe; daughters, Jarina Johnson (Myron) and Janelle Walker (Supreme); grandchildren, Malik and Marquis Johnson and Deyard Milligan Jr.; sisters, Pearl Harris, Gladys Saylor, Gwendolyn Gray (Percy), Thomasena Monroe, and Renee Magruder; brother, Carl Monroe; father-in-law, James A. Walker Sr.; sisters-in-law, Diane Carter, Beatrice Bradford, and Valarie Walker; and brothers-in-law, Jerome "Swamp" Saylor, Tim Magruder, Gregory Roberts Sr., Tony Lewis (Mary), Earl Lewis, McCoy Lewis, James A. Walker, Jr., James Bradford, Jr. (Sherry), and Jerry Bradford. Also left to cherish his memory are his Goddaughter, Kaleisha Clark, and a host of aunts, uncles other relatives, and friends.
A Walk-Through viewing will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021, from 12:30 until 6 p.m. at J.F. Bell Funeral Home Chapel, 108 6th St. N.W., Charlottesville.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at 1 p.m., at Faith Christian Center International, 2186 Richmond Rd., Charlottesville, Masks will be required.

I knew Vincent at the Boar's Head Inn some years back. He was one of the funniest co-workers we had. I will remember him well. Many regrets to hear he is gone.

Family,
It´s hard too say good-bye. Good-bye is for forever. But his Spirit will live. Vincent was a special person he used to call our mother on September 11th because they shared the same day different year. Family,
