Winston Thomas Obituary
He was preceded in death by two brothers Abdulla Jabar Armeen, AKA "Junie Thomas" and Wali Zakee, AKA "Leon C Thomas"; and three sisters, Doris T Williams, Dolores T Waller, and Diane T Fry.
He was a graduate of Burley High School; retired from the Rivanna Solid Waste Authority; and a veteran of the United States Navy. He was an avid fan of the Redskins and enjoyed attending the games with his family.
He leaves to cherish his memories two sons, Andre Thomas of Esmont, VA and Matthew Beard of Washington, D.C.; two daughters, Phyllis Thomas of Esmont, VA and La Toya Ragland of Charlottesville, VA; two brothers, James Thomas and Steve Thomas of Charlottesville; one sister, Daphne R. Fortune; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
He will lie in repose from 12 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at J. F. Bell Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2024, at J. F. Bell Funeral Home Chapel, interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Charlottesville, VA.
