Anthony "Tony" Campo

Anthony "Tony" Campo passed into eternal life on Dec. 6, 2014 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Anthony was born October 5, 1935, in Trapani, Sicily Italy to Angelina and Joseph Campo. He is survived by his wife of 30 years Karen (Kamper-Ricucci) and children and stepchildren. His son Joseph Campo and his wife Julie of Nutley, his daughter Susan and her fiancé Jim Fahey of Parsippany, Stephen Ricucci and his wife Rachel of Succasunna, Christine Ricucci and her fiancé Russell Michelson of Kenvil, brothers Frank of Yonkers, NY and John of St. Louis, MO. Grandchildren Vanessa, Brianna, Michaela and Dominique Campo, Nicole Dugan, Forest Kramer, Daisy Michelson, Elizabeth and Stephanie Ricucci and his faithful West Highland Terrier, Mackie.

He was studying to become a Lieutenant in the Italian Merchant Marines as a nautical engineer and then came to the United States in 1956 at age 21, and settled on Long Island, NY. He became a hair stylist and worked at Charles of the Ritz in NYC and then owned several salons in NY before moving to NJ. He owned Family Affair Salon in Rockaway, NJ and then opened Estetica Salon in Randolph, NJ, retiring in 2001. He was part owner of both Campo Heights with his father and brother John and then Omibus Builders with his brother and built many homes in the Mt. Freedom section of Randolph. He served as President of the Morris County Hairdressers Association. He was also a licensed realtor. He was a member and past president of the Rockaway Rotary and the Randolph Rotary, where he earned the Paul Harris Fellowship Award, the highest honor of a Rotarian. Anthony was an avid golfer, skier and traveler. He loved the opera and singing and cooking Italian food for his family. He was truly a man for all seasons.

Friends and relatives may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Thursday from 4 - 8 PM. The Funeral Liturgy will be held at St. Therese R C Church in Succasunna on Friday at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society Research at www.cancer.org.

Dear Karen & Family, we are so glad to have had the opportunity to meet Tony. We enjoyed his company on and off the golf course. He was always the gentleman, and always spoke highly of you and his family. We will miss him dearly. Rest in peace Tony. Tom Perera & Mario Santulli

Dear Karen and Family - are deepest condolences - we all LOVED Tony VERY MUCH!!!! - he was a great friend to my beloved Father-In-Law Frank. The two of them are now together, playing golf, drinking wine and enjoying wonderful meals and stories together....
