Benjamin S. Layug

AGE: 69 Morristown

Benjamin S. Layug, of Morristown, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2011 at St. Clare's Hospital in Dover after a short illness. He was 69 years old. Born in Capas Tarlac, Philippines, Benjamin lived in Morris Plains before moving to Morristown six years ago. Benjamin worked as a Security Guard in the Building & Grounds Department for the County of Morris in Morristown for 11 years, before he recently retired. He was a member of Assumption Church in Morristown. Benjamin is survived by his wife Margie V. Layug; and his children: Gerald, Daisy, Anjellie, Lambert, and Maria V. Landry. He is also survived by his siblings: Teresita, Crisanto, Julie, Eugenia, Dolores, Per, Deng, Olie, and Lelet; as well as his grandchildren: Victor, Melissa, Joshua, KC, Kurt, Hazel, and Eya; and his great-grandchild: Cloud. Benjamin was a loving husband, wonderful father, and great friend. He loved life, and was very giving and selfless. He loved to help anyone in need. Benjamin enjoyed riding motorcycles, shopping, music, and breeding various types of fish. Most of all, Benjamin had a special love for plants. He will be missed by all of his family and friends.

Services for Benjamin were private and under the care of Dangler Funeral Home, Morris Plains.
