Carrie Schepisi Obituary

Carrie Schepisi

Mendham, NJ - Carrie Schepisi, 91, of Mendham, NJ passed away on March 11, 2021 at Holly Manor Nursing Home. Carrie was born on December 21, 1929 in Hackensack, NJ. She lived her whole life in Morris County, NJ. She worked as an assistant in nursing homes and as a secretarial clerk for the ARC for almost 40 years.

Carrie enjoyed shopping, playing cards, knitting and word puzzles. She was very involved with the ARC program for many years and became a spokeswoman, where she had the opportunity to travel to London, UK. Carrie had many difficult challenges but was able to overcome them with quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor. She brought laughter and fun wherever she went and never allowed her disability to slow her down. She was an inspiration and hero of her family, and the spot she has left will not be filled.

Carrie is survived by her sister, Louise Hagensen, brother, Victor, her friends, Margie Collins and Lynn Taylor, her niece, Kathy Maxson and husband, Albert, and many other loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Nicholas and Adasa Schepisi and her sister, Mary Verge.

A Celebration of Carrie's Life will include a visitation on Tuesday, March 16 from 1pm to 2pm followed by a 2pm service at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road, Chester, NJ (908) 879-3090. Interment will be private.
