Charles Wajszczuk Obituary

90, grandfather, veteran
NUTLEY -- Charles F. Wajszczuk passed away at home on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008.
He was 90.
He was a World War II veteran of the Navy.
He participated in the Milrose Games at Madison Square Garden, in New York City, N.Y., having placed third in the pommel horse competition.
He was a graduate of St. john's University, in Queens, N.Y., where he received his degree in pharmacy.
He was the owner and head pharmacist at the Morris Plains Pharmacy, in Morris Plains, from 1955 to 1980. His pharmacy at one time filled the most prescriptions of all pharmacies in the state of New Jersey.
He was the beloved husband of the late Helen M. (Wujek); devoted father of Robert K. Wajszczuk and his wife, Claire, and Charles P. Wajszczuk M.D. and his wife, Lori, and the late Marie Wajszczuk.
He was the dear brother of Sophie Ward and the late John Wajszczuk; loving grandfather of Robert M. Wajszczuk, Susan C. Miessler, Alison J. Sagara, Amanda J. Sagara, Kathryn V. Wajszczuk, Elizabeth M. Wajszczuk, Charles J. Wajszczuk, and the late Adam M. Sagara; and the loving great-grandfather of Michael Wajszczuk.
Visiting will be at Levandoski Funeral Home, 44 Bay Ave., Bloomfield, (973) 743-6969, on Friday.
The hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will begin at 9 a.m. at the funeral home on Saturday.
The funeral Mass is at St. Valentine Church, in Bloomfield, at 10 a.m. Entombment is at Glendale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Barnabas Hospice Care Center, 95 Short Hills Road, West Orange, N.J., 07052, would be appreciated.

Dad, you are missed. A man with so many friends and, to my knowledge, no enemies. All who knew you knew they could count on your being there for them whenever needed. You taught me well through words and example. Enjoy the rewards of eternal life in heaven!
