Dominick Huster Obituary

DR. DOMINICK J. HUSTER AGE: 84 PARSIPPANY Dr. Dominick J. Huster, Age 84, passed away on Saturday, March 6th 2010 at Hackensack Medical Center in Hackensack. Dominick was born in Cuba. He came to the United States as a young child and settled in South Paterson, where he grew up and lived in Washington D.C. before moving to Parsippany in 1952. He attended Drew University in 1944. In June 1944, he entered the Army and served with 3rd Army in World War II. In December 1945, the 22nd Regiment was in the Battle of the Bulge and he earned 3 battle stars. Dominick returned to Drew University in 1945. He then attended the Georgetown School of Medicine from 1945-1950. After that, he interned at Overlook Hospital and started his private practice in Parsippany in 1952 and retired over 40 years later. He was on the Attending Staff at Morristown Memorial Hospital. Dominick was the Medical Director of Bankers National Insurance Company for 12 years. He was a member of the AMA of Morris County, the Medical Society of New Jersey, the National 4th Infantry Division Association, and the 22nd Infantry Regiment Society. He was also an avid golfer and was a member of the Rockaway Country Club in Denville. Dominick was predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Grace D. (nee-D'Annunzio) Huster on October 25th, 2007 and his mother, Sophie and father, Joseph. Survivors include his sister, Lucy Tombs and his brother, George; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral on Thursday, March 11th, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. from the Par-Troy Funeral Home, 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany. (973)887-3235 or visit www.partroyfuneralhome.com. With the Liturgy of Christian Burial to be offered at 10:00 a.m. at St. Christopher's R.C. Church, 1050 Littleton Rd. Parsippany. Internment: Holy Rood Cemetery, Morristown. Visiting hours are on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

When my brother, sister and I were very small, Dr. Huster would make house calls when we were sick. He was a wonderful Doctor.

Our family had known Dr Huster for many years. Not only was he our doctor but a wonderful friend. He will be sadly missed.

Dr.Huster came to our home many times when i was a young boy,he would even let my dad pay him when he was paid! He was one of a kind,one of the last great family doctors!!

Dr. Huster was a wonderful family doctor, who even came to our home when a member of our family couldn't get to him. There are none like him anymore.

God Bless Dr. Huster. He was a wonderful caring Doctor and delivered my daughter in 1963. He will be missed.
