I knew George just a little bit in high school. But enough that whenever we would pass each other for the last 30 years, we would wave and smile at each other. Rest in Peace.
Sue and the girls, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

To Sue, Girls and the Abbate Family,
Growing up across the street from the Abbate family in WML and going to school with Sue and Janet, I have so many memories to look back on. Although our paths barely crossed in our adult life I can remember the same great qualities in Georgie back then, that everyone loves him for now. It is no surprise that he was a wonderful husband, father, brother, son and friend. My deepest sympathy to you all in this tremendous loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless.

Mrs. Abbate, Sue, Janet, John and all of George's loved ones...I am terribly saddened by your loss. I've known George since we were kids and worked for him at Ziyad for several years. George was always the mellowest and nicest of the old, crazy crew in White Meadow. He never said a bad word about anyone, was a great listener and always had that heart warming smile to share. I'm sorry we didn't get much time to hook up in recent years, but I hope to see him again one day in the New Kingdom...surely he brought that smile up there where it belongs. Meantime, my prayers and thoughts are with you and the children always. God's peace be with you.

I'm sorry to read that George has gone. Mostly, our connection is from White Meadow Lake, both when we were younguns, and in the last few years he would still come by the deli at lunchtime,at least a couple of times a year. He was always smiling.

To the Abbate Family
We cannot express our sadness at the sudden passing of a wonderful vibrant man as George. As one of the parents of his friends it was like losing one of our own. We cannot tell you how sorry we feel for Sue & his girls and especially for his Mom . I just feel your pain because I know how I would feel if t were me. And Janet I know how you feel because I lost my sister and its a pain that never seems to really go away. But it will ease with time . God Bless

To the entire Abbate family,
George was the nicest person anyone could know. I've known him since 1974 as one of my brother's best friends and my wonderful sister-in-law's brother. It was such a shock to hear of such a young and healthy person could just suddenly be gone. He will be missed.
My thoughts are with you all.
