Joseph Greer Obituary
AGE: 74 • Roxbury Township
Roxbury Township, Mr. Joseph Felix Greer, 74, died on May 20, 2014 at his home in Succasunna. A poet, serviceman, scientist, and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Joseph was born in Newark to Mary and Joseph Greer, and lived in Westfield and Somerset before moving to Succasunna in 1976. He served in the U.S Navy during the Viet Nam era and was a member of the Mine Hill American Legion Post #391. He retired as a research scientist from Novartis Pharmaceuticals in Summit. He was a member of St. Therese R C Church in Succasunna and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was predeceased by his wife Bonnie Jean, and his sister Marylane Carvalho, and is survived by his 4 children, their spouses, 10 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild: Jeannine Fehr of Milford, PA (husband Bill, children Kristin (son AJ), William, Bonnie), Joseph Greer of Ringoes, NJ (wife Wendy, children Joseph, Meghan, Hannah), Jennifer Greer-McGlumphy (husband Doug, children Jacob and Jonah), Jacqueline McGuinnes of Lake Grove, NY (husband Daniel, children DJ, Sean). He is also survived by his brother George Greer (and his wife Linda) and sister Patricia DeRick (and her husband, Rev. Richard DeRick), and brother-in-law Carlos Carvalho.
Friends may visit at the Davis & Hepplewhite Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Succasunna 973-584-7264 (davishepplewhitefh.com) on Friday from 3 - 5 & 7 - 9 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday, 9:30 am at St. Therese R C Church, Succasunna.

Joe was a great neighbor. My son's always enjoyed talking with him about fishing, hunting and just life in general. We are very sad that he has passed. Rest in Peace Joe. Our deepest sympathy to his family.
