Marie Scanlon Obituary
AGE: 79 • Denville
Marie Theresa Scanlon (Bridgwood) passed away at Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover, NJ on November 20, 2013, at the age of 79. Born in Manhattan, NYC, she was raised in Elmhurst, Queens, NY before moving to the Indian Lake section of Denville, NJ in 1959. Marie worked as a telephone operator for AT&T prior to working at the Denville Bakery and the Three Crown Bakery and then as a Quality Control Supervisor for Corona Plastics in Denville, NJ. She was a member of the Indian Lake Community Club.
Marie was predeceased by her husband William J. Scanlon in 1989. She is survived by her children Patricia & John Johnson of Ligoiner, PA, Michael & Kathleen Scanlon of Jefferson, William & Diane Scanlon of Hopatcong and Daniel Scanlon and Jean Delgrosso of Rockaway, NJ. She is also survived by her grandchildren Christopher & Cheryl Johnson of Randolph, NJ Theresa Johnson & Josh Fryer of Ligoiner, PA, Colleen Scanlon of Jefferson, Cortney Scanlon of Jefferson, Danielle Scanlon of Hopatcong and Caitlin Scanlon of Hopatcong, NJ. She is also survived by her 7 Great Grandchildren as well as her sister Dolores & Larry Grella of Hudson, FL, her brothers David & Joan Bridgwood of Levittown, NY, Arthur & Janet Bridgwood of Michigan, Raymond & Patricia Bridgwood of Levittown, NY, Michael Bridgwood of Bethpage, NY, her sisters Elizabeth & Bill Track of Centereach, NY, Catheryn & Jack Mahoney of Middletown, MD, Patricia Napolitano of Holmdel, NJ and her brother Robert Bridgwood and his wife of Bohemia, NY. She was predeceased by her brother Jerry Bridgwood.
Funeral services will begin at 9AM on Saturday November 23, 2013, at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ 07834, and then going to St. Mary's Church in Denville for a 10AM Liturgy of Burial Mass. Interment will follow at Denville Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9PM. Please light a candle in her memory at: www.normandean.com.
