Martha Roman Obituary
AGE: 85 • Boonton
Martha W. Roman, 85, a lifelong Boonton, NJ resident, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2015. She was born Paterson, NJ to Hendrick and Janna Van Brueggen and lived her life in Boonton where she was an active member of the Boonton United Methodist Church. Martha loved her church where she was a member of the garden club and food pantry; she was also active with the Men's Charity Night and the Fun Fair for Kids.
She is survived by her children, Les Roman and Jan W. Roman Marker; grandchildren, Lukas, Ben, Rhiannon and Casey; and great grandchildren, Dylan and Ethan.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Boonton United Methodist Church, 626 Lathrop Avenue, Boonton, NJ 07005 on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 11:00am. Arrangements in care of the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home of Boonton. To extend condolences or share a memory, please visit codeymackeyfh.com. In lieu of flowers, donations in Martha's memory to The Nature Conservancy (www.nature.org) would be appreciated.

Dear Wendy and Les,
I learned just today (January 2, 2018) of your Mom's passing in late 2015 -- I'm so very sorry; I had no idea until a card I sent to her just before Christmas came back as undeliverable and I found this page. What a beautiful soul Aunt Mart was -- truly one of my favorite people, both within our family and without. Her smile, her wry sense of humor, her matter-of-factness, her optimism -- all such antidotes to whatever challenge had seemed insurmountable before you shared it with her. I hope we can connect by phone -- I've tried calling the numbers I have for you, but one apparently is no longer in service, and the other has a computerized outgoing message, so I'm not sure it's correct. I don't have addresses for either of you, either, but I'm still at the number we've had in CT since 1989, which is listed; I hope you'll call. Sending love to both of you and your families. Cindy

I was saddened to see your Mom's Obituary in the on-line version of the daily record. I sent you a card (via the "CODEY- MACKEY" (formerly MACKEY- DIXON) and I mean every word I wrote.
