Nathaniel Aiken

AGE: 73 • Morristown

Nathaniel Aiken, 73, of Morristown, passed away at home, surrounded by his family, Tuesday, December 11th, 2012 following a short illness. Nathaniel was born in Morristown and has been a resident of Chester and Morristown. He worked as a manager for AT & T, Basking Ridge, and retired in 1994 after 25 years.

He was the husband of Carol E. (Maillard) Aiken. He is survived by his wife Carol (Maillard) of 49 years; two sons Nathaniel and his wife Lisa of IN and Daryl and his wife Diana of Randolph; four grandsons Kyle, Julian, Bryce, and Nathaniel, Jr.; his brother Leroy and three sisters Gladys Golden, Agnes Boyd, and Joann McCann. Also survived by his brother-in-law Robert Maillard and his wife Joann of AZ, special friend Angelica Samuels, and other family members.

Visitation Monday, December 17th, 2012, 10 to 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 10 Martin Luther King Blvd., Morristown (973-267-0136). Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. also at the church. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Morristown. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory are requested to Atlantic Hospice, 465 South Street, Morristown, NJ 07960. The Aiken family is one of the main stay families of Morristown. They were all hard working honest people. I knew them well from the hard fought basketball games at the Neighaborhood house. They were good memories for all of us. RIP Nathan. Leo

So sorry that I can't be with you all today to say farewell to Nat but I just got out of the hospital with a kidney problem. I spent the majority of my youthat the Aikens' home. I can still hear one of the girls' saying "Gene Hill is here!" How I miss those days and the joy we shared. Thank God through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we will all be together again for eternity. My deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Nat.

NaT will be missed by all who Knew him. He and his brother were legends when I was growing up in The Hollow. Nat was always a gentleman and leader.
