Nicholas G. Marchitto

AGE: 58 • Hopatcong

Nicholas G. Marchitto passed away Sunday, October 16 at Hackensack University Medical Center. He was 58. Born in Paterson to the late Nicholas & Emma, Nicholas resided there prior to moving to Hopatcong 23 years ago. He earned his bachelor's degree in music from William Paterson College in Wayne with a secondary degree in computer science. He worked for the US Postal Service in Ridgewood and also taught piano. He traveled as a professional musician for several years. Nicholas had a great love for music, was an avid coin collector and a passionate Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Devoted husband of Georgette (Wilkie), loving father of Nicholas and Gina Marie and dearest brother of Joyce Swartz and Rosemarie Iannuzzi. Survivors also include a very large extended family of 2 aunts and many brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to meet at St. Jude's RC Church, 40 Maxim Drive, Hopatcong, NJ on Thursday October 20 for an 11:00 am Liturgy of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa. The family will receive friends and relatives for visiting hours on Wednesday October 19 from 2-4 and 6-9 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, Landing. In lieu of flowers the family strongly requests donations to St. Jude Children's' Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online at www.stjude.org. So sorry to hear of Nick's passing. When I met him again after many years at your family reunion last summer, he was such a kind and soft-spoken person. A true gentleman. May God fill your days with good memories and peace as He welcomes Nick into his Eternal Home. God Bless all of your family.
