Richard A. Hill, 65, of Basking Ridge died on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at home with his loving family at his side. Beloved husband of Barbara (Huarte) Hill. Richard was born in Sea Bright, NJ, son of the late Charles L. Hill. He is survived by his mother, Lois V. (Oates) Miller of Bennington, VT. Richard spent his 40 year career in hydraulic equipment manufacturing. Most notably, while serving as president of Biach Industries, Rich successfully positioned the company for acquisition in 2010. He was instrumental in transitioning the company to Actuant and remained in a leadership position with the Hydratight division, until his death. Rich was dedicated to serving others as demonstrated by his involvement over several decades to various organizations such the Somerset County Handyman Group, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Somerset County Planning Board and the Board of Health in Bedminster, to name very few. He also served as a member of the American Nuclear Society and was a member of the TKE Fraternity at Colorado State University, graduating in 1968. Of all his accomplishments, he was most proud of his role as a father, grandfather, husband and friend.

In addition to his mother and wife, Richard is survived by his son, Jeremy Hill and his wife Daria of Hacketstown, NJ; his loving grandchildren, Preston, Jordana and Brady; his sister, Nancy Smith and her husband Robert of Bennington, VT; his sister, Joan Kuncik of Charlestown, NH; his brother, Gary Hill and his wife Patricia of Bethlehem Twp., PA; his sister, Sally Moyer and her husband Chris of Shaftsbury, VT; his brother, Charles Hill and his wife Marian of Maine as well as many nieces and nephews and Danielle his beloved beagle and friend.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd., Mendham, NJ on Sunday, April 15th from 2-5pm. Richard's funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, April 16th at 11:30am. Interment to follow at Hilltop Cemetery.
