Robert Kratt Obituary
AGE: 81 • Clinton Twp.
Following a long valiant fight, Robert "Bob" John Kratt, Age 81, passed away on September 27, 2015 at Weill Cornell Hospital in New York City, surrounded by his wife, daughter, and son-in-law. He was born in Jersey City and spent his early years in Kearny and Nutley. In the early 1940's, his parents, Albert T. and Margaret Boyd Kratt moved the family to Lake Parsippany. Bob graduated from Boonton High School and Fairleigh Dickenson University. Between high school and University, he served in the United States Army, 11th Airborne Division. After graduation from FDU, he met and married the daughter, Barbara (Bobbie) of another long term resident Lake Parsippany family, George and Mary Gray.
In the early 1960's Bob started working as a buyer for Automatic Switch Company (ASCO) of Florham Park and retired from the company in 1992 as the Assistant Director of Purchasing. Bob and Bobbie moved to Annandale in the late 1980's and began to spend winters in Florida after his retirement. In addition to numerous business associations, Bob was a Life Member of the Parsippany Elks 2078, and St. Andrews South Golf Club of Punta Gorda, FL.
He was predeceased by his brother, Albert in 2014 and his sister, Margaret 'Peggy' Westura on 4/11/2012.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 54 years, Bobbie (nee-Gray); his daughter, Mamye Kratt and her husband, Tom Schuneman; his brothers: Steven and Irving of Lake Parsippany, their wives Mary Ellen and Carol; his sister-in-law, Joyce Kratt of R.I.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends in N.J. FL, GA, the Carolinas, R.I., and TN.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Visitation on Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 2-6 p.m., with a funeral service at 5:30 p.m. at the Par-Troy Funeral Home, 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany. 973-887-3235 or visit www.partroyfuneralhome.com. Cremation: Private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his memory to the Parsippany Elks Crippled Children's Fund, 230 Parsippany Rd., Parsippany, NJ 07054.
