Spring Hill, FL - Robert Stephen Markoski, 81 of Spring Hill, FL, passed away peacefully on Friday March 2, 2018. Born in Floral Park NY, he grew up in Franklin Square NY and resided in East Hanover NJ for 47 years before moving to Spring Hill FL. Bob was a graduate of Farmingdale State College, a US Army Veteran, and retired after 40 years of employment with NJ Bell/AT&T as a Field Engineer. Bob was an active member in the community, serving as Exalted Ruler of Springfield/Hillside Elks Lodge No. 2004, Treasurer of the Springfield Knights of Columbus, Council No. 5560. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 155 in Whippany, the Polish-American Club of Whippany and the Telephone Pioneers. He is predeceased by his wife of 50 years, the former Loretta Cassidy, and by his son Thomas. Bob is survived by his son Michael and companion Christine Perkalis of Dover; by two daughters, Karen Blount and husband Michael of Street, MD, and Michelle Markoski of Caldwell; by three grandchildren, Stefen, Brenna, and Timothy Blount; by a sister Carol Blume and brother Joseph. Memorial services will begin 10AM Saturday at Hancliffe Home for Funerals, 222 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover NJ 07936 with a 11AM Memorial Mass at St Rose of Lima RC Church, 312 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover NJ 07936. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial gathering hours are Friday 6-9PM at Hancliffe.
