Robert Nilsen Obituary

ROBERT E. NILSEN AGE: 64 ROCKAWAY Robert E. Nilsen, 64, of Rockaway died on Sunday July 26, 2009 at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Clare's Hospital/Dover. Born in Jersey City, he lived in Rockaway for the last 32 years. Mr. Nilsen was a tractor-trailer driver. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Jo-Ann of 40 years; two sons, Robert Jr. and his wife Kerrie of Rockaway, and David and his wife Christine of Succasunna; a sister, Maureen Swolensky of Henderson, NV; two granddaughters, Amber and Ashley, and two expected grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 29 at 11:30 a.m. at the Whitham Kanapaux Funeral Home, 20 Keller Ave., Rockaway. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
