Succasunna, Mrs. Ruth Louise Hill, 89, died on August 20, 2017 at the Merry Heart Health Care Center. She was born in Kearny, NJ, grew up in Newark and lived in Bloomfield for 17 years before moving to Succasunna 48 years ago. She was a member of the Succasunna United Methodist Church, and the Roxbury Women's Club.



She graduated from Central High School in Newark, NJ. She worked for Prudential Ins. Co for many years and retired as a Secretary from Sakrete Stone Mix, Kenvil in 1992.



She was a member of the Roxbury Woman's Club for over 45 years and held many positions. She was instrumental behind the scenes in raising funds for many charities, scholarships and social services projects.



She was an avid Mahjong player, loved doing puzzles and reading books. She participated in a weekly Neighborhood Bible Study Group at the Hillside Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling and family vacations.



She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Donald H Hill in 2010. She is survived by her 3 children; Russell (and Sharon) Hill of Roxbury, Todd (and Lisa) Hill of Orlando, FL, and Donna (and David) Barnes of Roxbury. She also leaves 6 grandchildren; Lee Ann Hill, Eric Hill, Brianna Hill, Garrett Hill, Allison Barnes, and David Barnes, and her great grandson Liam Hill.
