Violet J. Passmore (nee Galek), 85, died peacefully Friday evening, Sept. 30, 2011 at her home in Montville. Born in Detroit, Mich., Ms. Passmore had been a longtime resident of Montville Township. She had worked as a lab technician with the Norda Co. in Whippany for many years, retireing 25 years ago. Ms. Passmore was a longtime parishioner of St. Pius X in Montville and had been a 45 year member of the Montville Volunteer First Aid Squad. She also served as a dispatcher once she was no longer to physically go on calls.

She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Passmore and a sister, Sophie Hildebrant. Survivors include two sons, Thomas Passmore of Charlotte, NC and Kenneth Passmore of Montville; a daughter, Marlene Jones of Montville; a brother, Chet Galek of Montville; a sister Theresa Demarest of Santee, SC; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2-4 & 7-9pm at S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, 60 North Beverwyck Rd., Lake Hiawatha (973-335-4700). The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Oct. 6, 10:00am at St. Pius X R.C. Church, Montville. Private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Pius X Church would be appreciated.
