For nearly 15 years Mr. Dave Eggers was a surrogate father to both my wife and me and a surrogate grandfather to our children. I looked to him regularly for guidance in everything from my early Christian walk, to how to handle myself in marriage, to how to make and manage money, to how to live a good life and treat people with dignity and respect. He taught me to put bible study, prayer, and meditation first place in my daily routine, and he showed me what winning really took, and that success and financial independence were worth working hard for. I have laughed and cried, been somber, and enjoyed huge personal and professional failures and victories with him at my side and his manner was always the same. He was supportive, leading, encouraging, forgiving, and he expressed gratefulness to me for MY friendship from the day I met him up until the very last time we spoke. His mark on my life is felt daily and I don't believe I will ever get over his loss. We miss you, Dave, and think of you every time we eat chocolate chip cookies. :) Thanks for everything. Enjoy your eternal rest, in Him.
