David Eggers Obituary

David W. Eggers passed away September 17, 2014 at his home in Florence, Arizona. Born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, May 10, 1943 to the late Walter and Daisy (Wohler) Eggers, the only son of five children.
Before retiring to Arizona, he lived in various locations in the Pacific Northwest but his love of the cowboy life on his Montana ranch was where he loved it most.
David served in the Army. His hobbies included boating and fishing, riding horses with his granddaughter Emilie and golf.
He is survived by his wife, Malisa (Hart) Eggers, three step-daughters, Laci Harrison, Sarah Knudson, and Kallee Knudson. He also leaves behind four step-sons, Lee, Donald, Kevin, Andy and their mother Joanne (Sanford) Eggers, along with numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A memorial celebration will be held in Arizona.

For nearly 15 years Mr. Dave Eggers was a surrogate father to both my wife and me and a surrogate grandfather to our children. I looked to him regularly for guidance in everything from my early Christian walk, to how to handle myself in marriage, to how to make and manage money, to how to live a good life and treat people with dignity and respect. He taught me to put bible study, prayer, and meditation first place in my daily routine, and he showed me what winning really took, and that success and financial independence were worth working hard for. I have laughed and cried, been somber, and enjoyed huge personal and professional failures and victories with him at my side and his manner was always the same. He was supportive, leading, encouraging, forgiving, and he expressed gratefulness to me for MY friendship from the day I met him up until the very last time we spoke. His mark on my life is felt daily and I don't believe I will ever get over his loss. We miss you, Dave, and think of you every time we eat chocolate chip cookies. :) Thanks for everything. Enjoy your eternal rest, in Him.
